CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

All private lessons are tailored to the individual student, as all students learn differently and approaches are modified to best fit each learner. We suggest starting private lessons once children are school-aged (kindergarten and up). While all staff are professional classical and jazz musicians, we encourage the exploration of all genres of music so that students may take lead in choosing the repertoire they most enjoy playing. We teach traditionally so there is a complete immersion of note reading and music theory from the very first lesson. This is all integrated into each lesson while learning pieces so that the foundational skills and knowledge that are so necessary in more advanced playing is laid in an effortless way. We offer weekly lessons virtually and in student homes in Lower Westchester.

Group Rhodes Piano Classes

Rhodes Piano Classes are the perfect introduction to piano using an innovative approach to musical learning. We make it fun using our unique visual tools and games which students can connect to the piano, playing real music on their own keyboards from the very first class. All Rhodes Piano Classes are held in weekly 45-minute sessions. We like to cap our classes at 6-8 students so that we can maximize the attention paid to each individual students and ensure everyone is receiving a quality group experience. Students will learn:

  • Right Hand Melodies

  • Basic Left Hand Chords

  • Keyboard Georgraphy

  • Two Hand Playing

  • Composition

  • Rhythm Training

Strum Drum and Keys Jammin’

Calling all 3-8 year olds! We invite you to a world of musical exploration. Our newly launched 45-minute classes will introduce eager musicians how to strum our mini Loog guitars, beat rhythms on our hand drums, and jam on our mini keyboards in a fun and collaborative way. Young learners will build their confidence and fine-motor skills while learning all about our pint-sized instruments in 15-minute increments. Join us every week for some music making fun!

Open Music Classes

No registration required!

Join us in the outdoor green space across from J Cafe on Fridays 9:30-10:00 AM for our drop-in open music classes with Zev! Here we explore singing, dancing, and instruments from around the world with children ages 0-4. $15/child drop-in fee.
